New Mac OS (Big Sur) incompatible with Pulse Secure VPN

Enterprise Technology & Services recommends that students, faculty and staff using Mac devices DO NOT upgrade to the latest Mac OS, Big Sur, as it is not compatible with Pulse Secure VPN.

Apple released Big Sur Nov. 12, 2020. Because it does not support Pulse Secure VPN, users who upgrade may have difficulty remotely accessing many academic and administrative applications, including those listed here: https://td.unh.edu/TDClient/60/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=188

We will provide additional information after Pulse Secure has released a fix.

Pulse Secure product vulnerabilities

Enterprise Technology & Services is cognizant of the Pulse Secure product vulnerabilities announced yesterday in CISA ED 21-3 (https://cyber.dhs.gov/ed/21-03/). Please be aware that many of the vulnerable features are not being utilized by our systems; the ET&S team is actively working to apply the necessary updates/patches to the Pulse Secure client for our users. In some cases, you may be asked to upgrade the software installed to a new version of the Pulse software and a reboot will be necessary for the changes to take effect. Please be sure to comply to protect the University systems and resources.
